Associate Manager, M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions)

Remote Full-time
About the position

Join Yum! Brands’ high‑performing Global Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team and help shape the future of one of the world’s largest restaurant companies. In this role, you’ll evaluate and execute acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, and refranchising transactions that directly influence the long‑term strategy of our iconic global brands — KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and The Habit Burger Grill. You’ll work closely with senior deal leads, cross‑functional partners, external advisors, and franchisees as you support transactions from early assessment through closing. This position offers broad exposure to leadership across Yum!’s global organization and is based in Plano, TX, operating in a hybrid model with three onsite days per week (Tuesday – Thursday). Salary Range: $110,500 - $130,000 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in determining pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Responsibilities
• Evaluate and execute acquisitions, divestitures, equity investments, and refranchising initiatives across Yum! and its brands, with increasing autonomy on complex transactions.
• Partner with senior deal leads to underwrite opportunities through financial modeling, valuation analyses, and scenario planning to inform investment and capital allocation decisions.
• Analyze and synthesize materials from counterparties and advisors, developing clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
• Review transaction documents (Letters of Intent, Asset Purchase Agreements, and related legal materials) and support negotiations in partnership with Legal.
• Lead or support U.S. refranchising transactions end‑to‑end, including offering materials and stakeholder coordination.
• Manage closing and post‑closing processes to ensure deliverables and follow‑ups are completed.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders throughout each transaction, ensuring approval paths, timelines, and dependencies are met.
• Prepare materials for Deal Committee, Capital Committee, senior leadership, and the Yum Board of Directors.
• Maintain Yum!’s M&A knowledge base, track industry trends, and support pipeline development.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Approximately 7+ years of experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, consulting, strategy, or a related field (or fewer years with an MBA).
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and financial statement analysis skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with senior leadership and external partners.
• Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves
• MBA, CFA, or CPA.
• Experience in consumer, retail, restaurant, franchise, or asset‑light business models.

Benefits
• Employees (and their eligible family members) may enroll in the following types of insurance coverage: medical, dental, vision, legal, and accidental death and dismemberment, as well as FSA/HSA (depending on enrolled medical plan).
• Yum! also provides short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.
• Employees may enroll in our 401(k) plan.
• Yum! provides 4 weeks of vacation, paid sick leave, 10 paid holidays, a floating day off and 2 paid days for volunteer time each calendar year.
