Associate, Fund Manager Research
About the position Responsibilities • Write and review detailed reports containing comprehensive information and analysis related to the business and operational environment at the hedge funds, private equity funds and real estate funds and ensure that ongoing monitoring is completed on all investments for the platform (circa 500 investments) • Assist in the ODD process across all approved alternative funds, and will work with other areas of HAIL and AMG, legal, IT, compliance, risk, middle office etc. • Conduct ESG analysis and compile ESG scorecard and assessment reports for investments on the platform • Research foreign markets to assess regulatory and tax issues involving trading/establishing a local presence in those markets • Involved in special projects which include system implementations, enhancements of proprietary systems, financial crime and compliance frameworks for investments, and regulatory initiatives • Assist with the coverage of the operational risk of all approved funds across hedge funds, private equity and real estate • Participate in client meetings and pitches for prospective clients and present at oversight forums within the bank Requirements • Over 4 years working in operational due diligence or an audit firm auditing alternative investment products (hedge funds and/or Private Equity funds) or the operations and/or audit departments of an asset management firm preferred • Undergraduate bachelor's degree in accounting and finance • Chartered Accountant qualification, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification (Mandatory) • Working knowledge of industry standards for the asset management industry, specifically hedge funds and private markets, including familiarity with policies, procedures and best practices • Knowledge of hedge funds and pooled investment products • Knowledge and the ability to implement an ESG framework into the research process • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Good analytical skills • Strong organizational skills • Proficient with bolthires Office, Bloomberg, Allocator, and alternative investment databases Benefits • Competitive pay and benefits package including a robust Wellness Hub • Professional development opportunities • Industry-leading volunteerism policy • Generous matching gift program • Comprehensive program of immersive Sustainability and Climate Change Initiatives • Employee Resource Groups for networking and development Apply tot his job Apply tot his job
