Position Overview

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Associate Director of Product Design to lead our incredible team of UX designers who are building provider-facing tools and experiences. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enabling arenaflex providers to effectively onboard onto our platform and grow their businesses through properly managed product listings, pricing, promotions, advertising, and reviews.

This is a highly visible workstream that drives significant impact across our entire ecosystem. As a member of the digital product leadership team, you will collaborate closely with partners from various departments to align UX efforts with business objectives and customer needs. Experience Vision and Strategy


Develop and execute clear strategy for the customer experience, aligning growth and design efforts with feasibility, scalability, and business impact
Collaborate closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Data Analysis partners to foster a customer-focused approach throughout the product development lifecycle
Drive a deep understanding of our customers' needs, behaviors, and pain points through robust customer research initiatives
Translate customer insights into meaningful design principles and strategies that inform product development and continuous iterations and optimization
Utilize data analysis and customer behavior insights to make informed design decisions
Implement research results and customer feedback analysis to validate design hypotheses and iterate on solutions
Stay current with the latest UX trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in the e-commerce industry
Apply this knowledge to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge


Design Execution and Delivery


Employ design thinking principles and oversee the creation of exceptional customer experiences that meet objectives with elegant simplicity
Drive a sense of urgency in the team to deliver work, emphasizing the use of lean tools and techniques to more quickly deliver value
Lead project management, task allocation, and ensure timely project delivery while maintaining a high level of quality
Mentor and guide senior designers and design managers in best practices and professional development
Establish design standards and guidelines that ensure consistency across all customer-facing touchpoints
Champion accessibility and inclusive design practices throughout all product experiences


Team Leadership and Management


Lead, inspire, and coach a team of talented UX designers and design managers
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages creativity, continuous learning, and growth
Be a thought leader who can step back on general goals and opportunities, while also acting as a product expert who can closely work alongside their teams with deep domain knowledge and design expertise
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development
Build and maintain high-performing teams through strategic hiring and talent development
Promote cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing across design teams


What You'll Need

Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Architecture, Design, or related field
Solid understanding of design processes; knowledge of what is possible and what will be challenging to achieve and/or execute in a digital environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to present and articulate ideas clearly, and openness to evolving opinions that challenge beliefs
Strong proficiency in current design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Abstract, InVision, Framer, UXPin, and Creative Suite
Expertise in developing relevant deliverables, including detailed site maps, customer flows/task flows, customer journeys, page flows, taxonomies/folksonomies, ways to purchase, wireframes, annotations, and prototypes that address interaction recommendations
An online portfolio of case studies demonstrating experience in shaping B2B, SaaS, or Enterprise platform experiences and your unwavering advocacy for the customer, analytical thinking, and strategic mindset
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS; hands-on skills are a plus


Preferred Qualifications


Advanced degree in HCI, Design, or related discipline
Experience leading teams in e-commerce or marketplace environments
Background in provider-facing or merchant-facing product design
Strong analytical skills with experience in A/B testing and conversion rate optimization
Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design principles
Experience with design systems and component libraries
Proven track record of driving measurable business results through design initiatives
