Associate Attorney - Litigation

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney - Litigation to join its legal team in Plano, Texas. This role involves managing a diverse litigation portfolio, including contested matters and creditor's rights issues, while providing strategic legal guidance to financial institution clients. Duties Manage 50-75 active litigation cases from initiation through resolution. Act as lead counsel in all phases of litigation, including pre-litigation, pleadings, discovery, and trial. Represent clients in contested matters and firm-related litigation. Provide legal strategy and timely status updates to clients. Negotiate settlements and manage risk exposure. Supervise procedural implementations and guide operational staff. Ensure compliance with state, federal, and client-specific requirements. Monitor legal changes and recommend procedural updates. Requirements 3-5 years of experience as lead counsel in contested litigation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple cases. Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis. Experience with default litigation and banking law in Texas preferred. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active license to practice law in the State of Texas. Admission to practice before all four federal district courts in Texas. Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
