For more information, please visit our website atwww.biocryst.com or follow us onLinkedInand InstagramJOB SUMMARY:The Associate Director, Global Medical Affairs Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational expertise to support the Global Medical Affairs team across our portfolio of products. This role requires an experienced professional with experience in project and team management, vendor management, grants and external research collaborations, and internal communications.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Working closely with the Director, Global Medical Strategy & Operations and to support development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for the Global Medical Affairs team to align with overall company goals and specific needs of the global and regional markets.Oversee execution of Medical Affairs operations needs including Vendor Management, Internal Communications Strategy and Planning.Grants and Investigator-Initiated Study (IIS) programs lead serving as single point person to receive and review requests for completeness, prepare for and coordinate all committee meetings, maintain budgets, as well as regular communication with grant/IIS requestors to manage trackers/milestones.Contribute to a high-performing GMA operations team. This includes setting clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback, facilitating team development and training, and fostering a culture of scientific excellence and continuous improvement.Work with management, compliance, legal counsel, and site personnel to generate contracts and consulting agreements, policies, and SOPs.Contribute to the financial planning and budget management of Global Medical Affairs Operations. This includes forecasting, tracking of expenditures, variance analyses, and financial reporting to ensure cost-effective use of resources.Coordinate effective internal communication within the GMA and with other departments. Ensure the team is informed of relevant strategic decisions and developments and promote collaboration and alignment across the organization.Develop and implement strategic and operational plans for the GMA team to align with overall company goals.Lead cross-functional teams to streamline operations across multiple regions, ensuring efficient processes and adherence to global standards and regulatory requirements, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement with both internal processes and how external vendors are used/engaged; execute and operationalize improvements efficiently and effectively.Effectively manage special projects and other duties as assigned, including supporting department needs and serves as a resource.EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree required. Advanced degree preferred (MPH, PharmD, PhD, MS, etc).8+ years’ experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology firm or equivalent healthcare industry experience.Demonstrated ability to interact confidently with executives and employees at all levels.Should be able to work autonomously, and at the same time collaborate and partner effectively with other members of the medical affairs and administrative support community.Must be able to communicate effectively, in person and in writing, with a high level of attention to detail, including ensuring consistent formatting of all documents and presentations.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Flexible to adapt to ever changing needs and deadlines and able to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and decision-making capabilities.<20% travel as needed.Other duties as assigned.The statements in this position description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
