Assistant Vice President – IBG Finance (International) Role Overview This is a senior leadership role within the Corporate Affairs Group, forming part of the Head Office IBG Finance Team. The role supports Mashreq’s strategic finance agenda through close partnership with IBG leadership and alignment with Group priorities. The role has end-to-end responsibility for overseeing the Finance function across Mashreq’s International Banking Group (IBG), spanning nine countries across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the United States. IBG is a core pillar of Mashreq’s global strategy and long-term growth ambitions. Countries Covered Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, India, United Kingdom, United States (New York), Hong Kong, Oman. Reporting & Key Relationships • Acts as the primary day-to-day finance partner and first point of contact for the Head of IBG Finance. • Works closely with IBG business leadership, country CEOs, and functional heads. • Partners with Group CFO office and contributes to Group-wide finance initiatives through the Wholesale Banking Finance leadership platform. Key Responsibilities • Provide strategic financial leadership across IBG’s international footprint, ensuring alignment with Group strategy, financial discipline, and performance objectives. • Oversee end-to-end financial management including planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and financial governance across all IBG countries. • Drive robust financial controls, governance standards, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions. • Deliver insightful management reporting, variance analysis, and forward-looking financial insights to support decision-making by IBG and Group leadership. • Partner with the Head of IBG Finance to support business expansion, profitability enhancement, capital efficiency, and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. • Actively support the GCFO’s leadership agenda and represent IBG Finance in Group-level forums and initiatives. • Lead and embed a digital and AI-led transformation agenda within IBG Finance, including automation, predictive analytics, standardized reporting tools, and process harmonization across countries. • Build and lead a high-performing, future-ready finance organization with strong succession planning, talent development, and capability uplift across geographies. Key Capabilities & Experience • Senior finance leadership experience within international or wholesale banking, preferably covering multi-country operations. • Strong strategic finance, performance management, and governance expertise. • Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders and influencing decision-making at executive level. • Demonstrated leadership in driving finance transformation, digitalization, and AI-enabled solutions. • Strong understanding of regulatory, accounting, and control environments across multiple jurisdictions. • Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
