About Toptal

Toptal is a global network of top talent in business, design, and technology that enables companies to scale their teams, on-demand. With $200+ million in annual revenue and team members based around the globe, Toptal is the world’s largest fully remote workforce.

We take the best elements of virtual teams and combine them with a support structure that encourages innovation, social interaction, and fun. We see no borders, move at a fast pace, and are never afraid to break the mold.

Job Summary:

As the Assistant to Toptal’s CEO, you will act as a trusted execution partner on a wide variety of high-importance, detail-intensive initiatives. This role is not about booking calendars or booking travel - it’s about rolling up your sleeves to take on operationally demanding work that requires intelligence, precision, and a strong sense of ownership. The role includes many important but mundane tasks that simply need to be done with care and a willingness to execute. You will be expected to provide high-level executive support to the CEO, consistently demonstrating extreme attention to detail in confidential communications and strategic priorities. You’ll work closely with the CEO to ensure key priorities are executed efficiently and effectively, often navigating ambiguity and managing sensitive information.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives on solving problems, pays close attention to detail, and brings sound judgment to fast-paced, evolving situations. You’ll need to be discreet, highly organized, and consistently reliable - someone the CEO can count on to bring structure, clarity, and high standards to everything you take on.

This is a remote position. We require applicants and the person in this position to reside within NYC. All communication and resumes must be submitted in English.

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will support the CEO across a broad range of operational and administrative tasks, from more mundane responsibilities to important ongoing work, all of which are essential to advancing key priorities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high-detail, often time-sensitive work is completed accurately and with minimal oversight. This includes tracking progress on ongoing initiatives, anticipating needs, managing follow-through, and contributing to internal and external communications as needed. You’ll also be trusted to handle confidential information with discretion and to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to help keep critical efforts on track.

Qualifications and Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Must reside in NYC.
• This is not a 9-to-5 role - you must be highly flexible and responsive when urgency arises.
• You must have world-class organization skills, be highly detail-oriented and comfortable wearing many hats.
• You must have tremendous emotional intelligence, including exceptional foresight and judgment.
• Ownership. You take responsibility for the work you do.
• Quality. You take pride in everything you deliver as a reflection of yourself.
• Integrity, at the highest level. You must be able to exercise good judgment on behalf of others.
• Highly resilient. You must have a growth mindset and be very comfortable giving and taking direct feedback and constructive criticism. You must be an exceptional performer in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and constantly with teams via Slack and other collaboration tools.
• You must be a world-class individual contributor to thrive at Toptal. You will not be here just to tell other people what to do.

Essential Job Functions
• Regularly and reliably attend scheduled virtual team meetings on camera.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Use all required digital collaboration tools.
• Prioritize and self-manage workflows and deadlines.
