We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced social work professional to join our team as an Assistant Professor of Social Work (BSW and MSW Field Director) at Fort Hays State University. This is a nine-month tenure track position that offers a unique opportunity to teach, mentor, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students and the community.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Social Work programs, serving as the BSW and MSW Field Director, and engaging in scholarly activities. The position requires a strong commitment to diversity, culturally competent education, and working with rural communities. Key Responsibilities:
Teach courses in the Social Work programs, including undergraduate and graduate levels
Serve as the BSW and MSW Field Director, with a minimum of 75% release time for field responsibilities
Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication
Provide services to the community, the profession, the department, the college, and the university
Mentor and advise students, including those from underrepresented groups
Requirements:
MSW from a CSWE-accredited program
At least two years of post-MSW social work practice experience
Commitment to diversity, culturally competent education, and working with rural communities
Ability to relocate to Hays, Kansas
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate in Social Work or a related field
Teaching experience at a four-year institution of higher education
Experience teaching in a CSWE-accredited program and online teaching experience
Knowledge of social work practice in Kansas and experience with CSWE accreditation
