Assistant Principal Special Education
Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Principal at The Menta Education Group, you will support school-wide initiatives that focus on teacher development, implementation of PBIS, and Common Core Standards. Required: Special Education Teacher Certification (IL PEL with LBS1)Not required, but welcomed: IL PEL with Administrator/PrincipalStaff Hrs: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mon-Fri, following a 10 month school calendar Responsibilities Assist lead administrator with school leadership and directionSupport school-wide initiatives in special educationDrive change by working alongside staff and students to improve academic and behavioral achievement and support the overall learning environmentLead the school by building high performing teams and responsibly manage work and people while enlisting others in the school visionPromote the success of students by creating an instructional program that continually strives to improve teaching and learningCreate and maintain a school environment that focuses on students and emphasizes high academic expectations, a personal approach, caring, discipline, and orderEncourage professional development and effectively supervise teachers and staff in order to improve student learning and academic achievementConfer with students, parents, and staff to resolve issues and problems Qualifications Required: Illinois PEL Special Education Teacher Certification (LBS1)Preferred, but not required: Illinois PEL with Principal Certification K-12 or General Administrative Certification or a strong desire to obtain certificationLeadership experienceA strong knowledge of the PBIS modelKnowledge of Common Core StandardsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to speak and write clearly and persuasivelyAbility to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the Pay Transparency amendment to the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003, information about pay ranges and employee benefits can be found at the following links:General Employee Benefits OverviewSalary InformationPlease refer to the "School Leadership" section for this position's category Additional Information Menta Academy NorthwestAt Menta Academy Northwest we are dedicated to ensuring each child reaches their potential in becoming 3-C Ready: College Ready, Career Ready, and Citizenship Ready.
