Job Summary:
We are looking for an Assistant Faculty in Economics to support our online undergraduate level Economics class. The successful candidate will interact with students in online classrooms, analyze student activity, and provide appropriate responses. You will also assist in managing generic student communications, utilize our online learning platform (Canvas) to communicate with students, and escalate unique issues to the master instructor.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze student activity within discussions and assessments and choose the appropriate responses
Accurately use the right type of responses based upon training and input from the master instructor
Assist in managing generic student communications
Utilize online learning platform (Canvas) to communicate with students
Escalate unique issues to the master instructor
Assist with grading
Monitor engagement levels and provide recommendations on the best approach on how to increase engagement
Other duties as assigned
Adhere to university policies and procedures
Requirements:
Master's Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
Evidence of professional or academic experience with quantitative analysis tools, quantitative communication, planning, and organization
Previous teaching experience with adult learners required; online teaching experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have strong computer skills
Ability to lead group discussions and keep accurate records
Exhibits sound judgment in making decisions
