Assistant Designer - J.Crew Factory Womens Wovens

They are seeking an Assistant Designer to work closely with the Manager on creating seasonal lines, selecting colors, and developing fabrics while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain design integrity.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Manager to create seasonal line, select color stories, develop fabrics and prepare for milestone meetings (sketch reviews, proto reviews, assortment reviews)Prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and garment samplesAssist in research of seasonal trends, themes, colors, raw materials, styling, and trimsCreate tech packs; work with Technical Design in preparing specs, updating sketches and BOMsRequest dips/strike-offs/handloom submits and garment samplesCreate seasonal lineplans / CADsAttend fittings and take notesCommunicate updates to cross-functional teams in a timely mannerCollaborate with Merchants and Production teams to maintain Design integrity while meeting business goalsSkills1-2 years relative Design experienceApparel Design degreeStrong portfolioHigh level understanding of brand aesthetic and enthusiasm for the brandStrong illustration skills (hand and Adobe Illustrator)Demonstrated creative sense and abilityTrend/fashion awarenessTechnical sketching ability (flats)Working knowledge of garment construction and trimGarment measurement and specification experienceKnowledge of lab dips and strike-offsExcellent color senseSelf-motivated and proactiveTeam player with a can-do attitudeAbility to meet deadlinesOrganizedStrong written and verbal communication skillsGood follow-through with a sense of urgencyDemonstrated ability to do creative, focused visual presentationsProficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word, and ExcelBenefitsHealth & Well-being - Eligible associates and family members receive medical, dental, prescription and vision insurance, family planning (fertility, adoption & surrogacy support), fitness discounts, medical travel and more.Associate Discount - We love our products just as much as you do!
