Assistant Designer – Girls Apparel

Golden Touch is a family-owned wholesale apparel manufacturer specializing in children's and women's apparel. The Assistant Designer will support the Girls design team across various categories, managing sample logistics and assisting throughout the design development cycle from concept to production.ResponsibilitiesSupport the Designers throughout the development cycle, from concept to productionWork with sweaters, activewear, cut and sew, and wovensCommunicate and follow up with factories and team membersSupport Designers with inspiration and trend researchRun out to local shops for trims and fabric as needed, pickup and drop off from local sample roomsSample management- Order, track, organize, steam, tag, distribute, send, receive, return, and photograph all the samples we have coming inCreate seasonal and capsule line sheetsHelp coordinate with our CAD designer and request CADs as neededCreate CAD boards of all ATS styles for our sales teamAssign style numbers in PLM for our sales team when requestedCreate new requests from our fabric team and continue to follow up with them. Launching yardage, asking about sample yardage availability, etcSet up new PowerPoints for the team to use for research, development, and presentationsAssist with any meeting prepSend styles to our costing team via PLM and create costing line sheetsRoutinely check online for new images of our products on buyer’s websites to save down for future use and referenceAdvanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, TEAMS)Knowledge of the full life cycle of a garmentMaintain sample closet and showroom samplesKnowledge of PLM is a plusSkills1+ years of experience at the Assistant level in the apparel industry in either showroom or sample management capacityBachelor's degree in apparel design preferredMust be able to work in a fast-paced environmentAdvanced proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, TEAMS)Strong foundation in Adobe Suite (mainly illustrator and acrobat, a bit of photoshop)Knowledge of the full life cycle of a garmentSolid communication and interpersonal skillsProactive team playerKnowledge of PLM is a plusFabric knowledge in both knits and wovens is preferredCompany OverviewGolden Touch is a manufacturer and retailer of clothing products.
