About Our Client
Our client is an IPP that focus on utility scale solar, storage and wind projects. They cover projects nationwide throughout WECC, CAISO, SPP, MISO, ERCOT, PJM, NYISO and ISO-New England. Their company is made up of around 450 employees and employees can work on an 100% remote basis.
Job Description
Seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to be responsible for the following:
ā¢ Have a sound understanding of engineering concepts, principles, and practices applicable to the design, layout, and supervision of construction operations.
ā¢ Monitor day to day progress to ensure the project is on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and any change management processes are well understood and followed.
ā¢ Align with the integrated project team structure to support project execution, to internally manage and deliver project management and construction activities and reporting.
ā¢ Coordinate, oversee and manage the delivery team, site staff, contractors, and physical resources (internal and external) to achieve targets.
ā¢ Establish, maintain, and control construction budget and cost control and construction progress in accordance with schedule.
ā¢ Develop the project execution plan (PEP) and with the engineers, design the construction schedule, contracting strategy and work through the detailed planning for commissioning and operational readiness.
ā¢ Understand all infrastructure constraints and seek out and implement faster and better ways to deliver the project.
ā¢ Work with site-based teams to identify areas with highest needs for improvement and explore the broader market for technically innovative solutions.
ā¢ Drive a culture of innovation that advances best-in-class EPC costs and maximizes plant production and minimizes energy cost.
ā¢ Effectively integrate plant design, cost estimating, and technology selection to optimize EPC costs and project performance; work closely with the Development team to ensure project development decisions integrate and drive down EPC costs.

The Successful Applicant
ā¢ 1-3 years of Construction Management experience for renewable energy projects across solar, storage and wind.
ā¢ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science or related field
ā¢ Impressive track record and experience in development of renewable energy projects
ā¢ Previous applicable experience working in a commercial negotiation environment
ā¢ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
ā¢ Strong interpersonal skills - able to work and communicate effectively with a cross-functional internal team, vendors, consultants, various project stakeholders, authorities having legal control, utilities, state agencies etc.
ā¢ Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position.
