Key Responsibilities:
Provide sound legal advice and representation to city officials, employees, and agencies on municipal law topics, including land use, real estate, and employment law
Conduct detailed legal research, draft legal briefs, and prepare oral arguments for court proceedings and administrative hearings
Develop and maintain relationships with allied agencies, coordinate inter-agency efforts, and represent the city's interests in various forums
Prepare contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents to support city projects and initiatives
Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and city employees to provide legal guidance and support
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university program
Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado (or admission to practice within 60 days of hire date)
Minimum of five years of legal practice experience required for Attorney II position
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in municipal law, land use, real estate, or employment law
Training or experience in transactional representation and legal advice on city infrastructure projects
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
