Artificial Intelligence (AI) Internship - Hybrid Remote

They are seeking an organized, self-motivated college student for an Artificial Intelligence internship to support efforts in leveraging AI for operational and business efficiency, including tasks such as AI model evaluation and data preparation. Responsibilities Assist in developing and testing AI models for predictive maintenance, cybersecurity anomaly detection, and data-driven decision-making Support integration of AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, generative AI platforms) into business workflows under supervision Prepare datasets for AI training, ensuring compliance with data governance and privacy standards Document AI use cases, workflows, and risk assessments in alignment with Hoosier Energy’s AI Policy Collaborate with Technology Governance Committee on AI product assessments and vendor evaluations Monitor AI outputs for accuracy and reliability; ensure human review of all deliverables (“Human in the Loop”) Research emerging AI trends and provide recommendations for safe and effective adoption Skills Currently a Junior level or above college student pursuing a degree in Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail in compliance-driven environments Understanding of data privacy principles Basic programming skills (Python preferred) Familiarity with machine learning concepts Familiarity with large language models Familiarity with generative AI Company Overview Hoosier Energy is an electric cooperative that generates and transmits wholesale power and services to the distribution cooperatives.
