Pickering College is not just a school; it is a community. Position Overview We are currently recruiting a part-time weekend Arena Attendant. Reporting to the Manager of Facilities, the ideal candidate should be a responsible self-starter who is able to organize and complete all tasks with minimal supervision and within given time frames. The individual must be able to work independently or in a team environment. The incumbent would be responsible for all janitorial, maintenance, arena, grounds and security duties. As an Arena Attendant, you would be responsible for all ice-making, janitorial duties, maintenance, security duties and public relations, specific to the arena. Qualifications Required: · A working knowledge of modern janitorial methods and equipment · Ice resurfacing experience. · Ability to perform general maintenance, arena and grounds keeping duties. with minimum supervision. · Ability to follow instructions and to exercise tact and diplomacy. · A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English (both verbally and in writing). · Ice-making experience in a small arena environment (Arena) · Safe operator training through ORFA (or similar) and/or from previous employment experience is preferred.
