FLSA Status: Exempt, Salary Reports To: Project Manager III Job Type: Full-Time, Regular Compensation: $64,000 - $79,000 per year, based on relevant experience This position is open to remote work; candidates must be located within the contiguous United States. 25%-50% travel is required. These four entities are: Forestry & Utility Division Environmental Division Technology & Innovation Division Sustainability Division JOB SUMMARY: The Architectural Historian III is responsible for conducting Cultural Resources investigations and reporting of above-ground resources for Section 106 consultation, conducting historic resources surveys, and National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) evaluations. The position will work on a wide range of projects in the government and private sector and support departments across the organization. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions: NRHP eligibility evaluations Assess potential effects to historic properties Conduct fieldwork for reconnaissance-level and intensive-level architectural surveys nationwide Conduct archival research at local repositories including libraries, archives, museums, and land record offices, among others Prepare architectural descriptions and complete Architectural Survey Inventory Forms Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of technical reports for Section 106 cultural resource investigations Assist in the development of historic contexts and the preparation of NRHP nominations Understanding of Section 106 requirements for FCC Telecommunications PA Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group’s culture of safety and employee ownership Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follow all company policies and procedures OTHER DUTIES: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Position requires 25%-50% travel JOB REQUIREMENTS: MA/MS in Historic Preservation, Architectural History, History, or a similar field of study Must meet the Secretary of Interior’s Qualification Standards in History, Historic Architecture and/or Architectural History, or Historic Preservation Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience in Cultural Resources Management/Consulting or other related industry where Architectural History is the principal responsibility Demonstrated experience in conducting research for historic properties Demonstrated experience in conducting historic resource surveys and writing architectural descriptions Experience in preparing Cultural Resource Reports for Section 106 consultation Experience in land records search and establishing a complete chain-of-title for a historic property Demonstrated experience in preparing NRHP eligibility evaluations and assessment of effects Strong written and verbal communication is essential.
