Title: Staff AccountantLocation: Remote or Chicago, ILReports to: SVP FinanceArbor Lodging is a leading hotel investment and management company with a growing portfolio of hotels throughout the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Our culture is people-focused, data-driven, and results-oriented.Summary:The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of 5-7 properties within Arbor Lodging’s portfolio of hotels.Duties & Responsibilities:Responsible for maintaining practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.Addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, bank/balance sheet reconciliations, and financial report preparation.Supports hotel properties and provides financial information to other professional service providers, tax accountants, etc. for follow-upOverall day-to-day management of financial reporting accuracy for assigned propertiesBank and other balance sheet reconciliations Payroll reconciliationsPerform, review and approve account classificationsProcess property tax returns in compliance with state and local tax jurisdictionsImplement accounting procedures and necessary training to promote GAAP Compliance Identify and communicate process inefficiencies or operational issues observed while performing balance sheet reconciliations and audits and recommend appropriate solutionsReview the accuracy of AP and AR transactionsReview G/L for any missing transactions and overall accuracyMaintain capitalization policyAssist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statementsSupport external auditors in completing annual auditsWork closely with Hotel Teams, Regional Operations Team, and SVP Finance to ensure effective coordination between Accounting and Operations
Requirements
