About DolFUN SWIM Academy
DolFUN SWIM Academy is an internationally acclaimed swim academy that's dedicated to teaching people of all ages how to be safer in, out, around, and under the water. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety of each class and teach swim skills to students using our curriculum
Build water confidence within your students, encouraging each student to rise to the best of their abilities
Regularly communicate with students and fellow staff members, welcoming feedback and being a continuous learner
Report to the Deck Supervisor or Site Supervisor during shifts and provide support throughout the pool deck as needed
Complete required training and be a continual learner, staying up-to-date on the latest techniques and best practices
Follow our curriculum with a focus on the needs, abilities, and comfort of each student
Smile and have fun during your entire shift, creating a positive and enjoyable experience for students and staff alike
Essential Qualifications:
Caring and compassion for children and adults
Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 5 hours
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and parents
Great attitude and willingness to be coached, with a commitment to ongoing learning and growth
Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to commit to at least 1 year of employment, with afternoons and weekends required
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working with children or teaching swim lessons
Lifeguard certification or willingness to obtain
USSSA online Infant Toddler Training Course certification or willingness to obtain
Oregon Child Care Division Background Registry clearance or willingness to obtain
Skills and Competencies:
High energy with a never-ending smile
Great people skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents
Patience and understanding of others and their unique qualities
Responsibility and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
Ability to motivate students with play, patience, and joyful interactions
Desire to learn about the development of children, how their bodies and brains benefit from swimming
