This position comes with an attractive salary of a competitive salary.   Job title: Paraeducator/RBT Company: Derby Public Schools Job description : Under direct supervision of a certified staff member, to assist with classroom activities to meet instructional goals and objectives; carries out lesson plans and other curriculum provided by the classroom teacher; participates in planning lessons, staff meetings, professional development, etc. Qualifications Passing score on the ParaPro exam and/or college coursework equivalent to an Associates degree. Prior experience working with special needs students desirable. PMT certificate. Prompt, reliable, dependable, honest, ability to accept constructive feedback from supervisors. Good oral and written communication skills. Previous ABA experience preferred. Responsibilities Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills Deliver Discrete Trial Instruction (DTI) Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs Assist professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and assessments Assists in classroom preparations and strategies for reinforcing instructional materials and skills according to individual student needs Assists with record keeping procedures to document student learning and performance Assist with classroom behavioral management to minimize disruptions, ensure safety, and ensure students are on task Constructs, copies, and distributes educational materials as needed Assists students with disabilities with activities of daily living for the purpose to maximize their ability to participates in school or learning activities Perform any other related duty assigned.
