Remote Sign Language Interpreter (EIPA 4.0+) Location: California (Remote) Schedule: Full Time – Approx. 30 hours per week (6 hours per day) Dates: ASAP – May 28, 2026 Caseload: Elementary & Intermediate (candidate preference considered) Position Overview: Bilingual Therapies is seeking a qualified Remote Sign Language Interpreter to support students across California for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, remote, 1099 contractor position providing interpreting services to hard of hearing and deaf students to ensure equal access to education. The interpreter will facilitate communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff while also assisting students in academics and life skills development. Responsibilities: • Provide sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting in the classroom and virtual settings. • Facilitate communication between hard of hearing/deaf students and their hearing peers, teachers, and school staff. • Assist students with academic subjects such as reading, writing, and math. • Support students with vocational and/or daily living skills. • Monitor students during instructional and activity-based sessions. • Adapt to elementary or intermediate school settings based on student and interpreter preferences. Qualifications (California Requirements): • Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or • Minimum score of 4.0 or higher on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment (required). • Prior experience in school-based interpreting preferred. • Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families. • Reliable internet connection and ability to work in a remote environment. Compensation: • Competitive weekly pay (1099 contractor status).
