Shift Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends (varies) Job Summary Transformative Learning (TL) provides academic preparation programming and academic support services for undergraduate students in all colleges to help them master the skills needed to become successful lifelong learners. TL houses four academic support programs including: The Peer Tutoring Program at The Study, Academic Preparation and Placement (APP), Integrated Success Coaching (ISC), and Supplemental Instruction. Members of TL strive to achieve the goal of enhancing the academic experience of students at UK by working closely with campus partners to develop student-responsive programs that best serve the entire campus community. As a member of the TL senior staff team, teaching and graduate assistants will contribute to the overall mission of the unit and its services, participate in regular meetings/trainings, and continually work to improve all programs and services. Responsibilities for the Reading Academic Preparation & Placement TA position include: - Working with students in a classroom and one-on-one setting - Teaching reading and study skills strategies & serve as a resource to students - Applying reading strategies to course texts across disciplines - Create & Present Workshops related to Reading Comprehension - Assist with Placement Testing Activities - Other duties as assigned by APP Assistant Director A complete application includes the following: 1.
