Applications Integration Architect (Banking)

Summary
We are seeking an experienced Applications Integration/Solutions Architect to design and deliver advanced digital banking solutions that enhance customer experiences. This role involves developing scalable and secure architectures while collaborating with stakeholders to align solutions with business goals. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and lead the integration of core banking and third-party systems in the digital banking landscape.
Responsibilities
Define and document end-to-end architecture for digital banking platforms, including mobile apps, online portals, and backend services.
Collaborate with business leaders to gather requirements and translate them into innovative technical solutions.
Evaluate emerging technologies to improve scalability, performance, and security of digital banking systems.
Design integration strategies for core banking systems, payment gateways, identity management solutions, and APIs.
Develop and promote architectural principles, design patterns, and coding standards.
Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data privacy standards such as PCI DSS and GDPR.
Act as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to junior team members and stakeholders.
Partner with vendors and internal teams to evaluate, install, and enhance digital banking solutions.
Identify and mitigate project risks, creating contingency plans to ensure seamless delivery.
Required Skills
5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, systems design, application analysis, or related fields.
Experience in technology and enterprise architectural strategy.
Strong knowledge of banking industry processes and digital banking technologies.
Strong applications integration / API experience, working with tools such as Boomi or MuleSoft.
Proficiency with major technology platforms such as IBM mainframe, Unix, Windows, and DBMS, along with advanced software development techniques.
Excellent problem-solving and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Prior Java or .NET development background is ideal.
