Application Engineer I
Peerless Pump, a subsidiary of Grundfos, is looking for an Application Engineer I to join their IND BO AE Team in Indianapolis. The role involves providing technical support and quotations, collaborating with suppliers and internal customers to meet or exceed customer expectations while adhering to corporate policies.ResponsibilitiesReview product specifications to determine technical requirements, including but not limited to: equipment selection, sizing, costing, research requests for duplicate equipment from serial number records, and develop current pricingCommunicate with our direct suppliers for pricing, delivery, and technical informationProduce detailed and concise work instructions pertaining to customer requirements, production improvements, purchasing assistance, etcProvide documentation to Project Management pertaining to pricing, delivery schedule, preliminary design information, and exceptions quoted to customer specifications, detailed listing of customer specifications reviewed at proposal phase, pattern research, etcPost fulfillment project review to determine causes of margin erosion and improvements that can be made to reduce future margin erosionSupport continuous improvement, identify inefficiencies, and eliminate errors in the order winning processSupport continuous improvement, in order to achieve deliverables and maximize profitPerform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with Grundfos Values and our internal standards (Safety, Quality, Schedule, Cost)Be a voice of the customer to the CSC, advocating for the customer’s needsAdhere to all company policies and proceduresComplete special projects as assigned and perform other duties as requiredSkillsBachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or business with equivalent experience in technical sales and manufacturingPrevious experience in Engineering, Project Management and/or Sales in a manufacturing environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills including written with attention to detailWorking knowledge with Microsoft Office™ (Excel®, Word®, Access®, Power Point®, Projects®, Outlook etc.), AutoCAD (or other drafting tools), SAP and CRM systemsAdvanced understanding of pumps, construction, hydraulics, and application of rotating equipmentHas high sense of urgency to meet or exceed customer expectations, and achieve daily commitmentsBenefits5 paid holidaysPaid time off for volunteeringUp to 20 paid vacation days a year accrued by date of hireCompetitive medical, dental, and vision plans401(k)-match programAnnual bonusesParental supportEngaging team buildingsDiverse, inclusive environment with employee-led forums offering colleagues a safe place to connect and share openlyLong-term career development with regular dialogue, as well as continuous learning and development opportunitiesAccess to the modern Grundfos Academy to pursue further both personal and professional developmentCompany OverviewWe’re a global leader in water solutions.
