Application Development – Software Engineer - UI, Intern

Internships provide on-the-job training for students in their field of study. Internships can be part-time or full-time and take place over the summer or during the school year. This Intern Developer, UI focused, is focused on application development, including understanding business requirements, designing/coding technical solutions, testing, documentation, implementation and maintenance. This team member will work with graphic designers, developers, scrum masters, external partners and business owners to ensure that all delivered applications are scalable, maintainable, and conform to industry best practices with the help of teammates. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the development and maintenance of the Admissions Application, focusing on improving functionality and user experience. Collaborate with the product development team to design and implement new features. Help in diagnosing and troubleshooting software issues and bugs. Engage in quality assurance testing of new software releases. Contribute to the creation of technical documentation. Participate in agile development processes and team events. Job Skills: Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, Java Script, jQuery, Angular JS, Bootstrap, and React) Organizational skills. Great multitasking abilities Excellent written and oral communication skills. Collaboration in a team environment. Must have strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Education: Current undergraduate college student Currently pursuing a decree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Other: Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location. Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity.
