Job title: Application Architect/Technical Architecture Specialist (part-time and remote) in Augusta, ME at Knowledge Services Company: Knowledge Services Job description: Overview:Knowledge Services is seeking a remote and part-time Application Architect for a 12-month contract (potential for extension) with the State of Maine Office of Technology. Applicants must be able to work during business hours from 8-5pm ET (about 20 hours per week) Applicants may work 100% remotely We cannot consider any applicants that require C2C or that require sponsorship for a work visa Responsibilities:Application Architect Responsibilities: This position is part of the Digital Services program within the Office of Information Technology. The program is essential for designing and overseeing the implementation of a customer-centric online application to simplify State government and digital services. While working alongside vendor contractors and the program team, you will be relied upon for all aspects of design integration strategies and user interface design to champion usability, accessibility and usefulness to provide the optimal, cohesive user experience for the end user that is aligned with established branding and marketing goals. Your key areas of responsibilities will be: Analyze and understand State requirements. Assist developers and program team by reviewing and providing feedback and recommendations for all aspects of user interface design, branding and marketing, mockups and graphic layout designs. In a user-focused way, help to develop functional prototypes and a launch-ready website that meets the State’s needs. Assist in reviewing user research and usability testing to generate and validate design decisions. Considering the human-computer interface element of the design, assist in communicating screen designs, interaction models, end-to-end experiences. Assist in designing integration strategies for connecting various state service applications. Participate in project briefing and brainstorming and provide guidance and support throughout project. Using detailed and general knowledge of the end-to-end workings of how the system works, assist in any testing, troubleshooting, and help implement fixes to resolve poorly functioning services. Assist in solution documentation, diagrams, and technical specifications. Qualifications: Application Architect Required Skills: 5+ years of experience analyzing and designing websites in terms of Usability and User Experience. 5+ years of experience developing and retrofitting websites for accessibility. 5+ years of experience developing mobile responsive websites. Experienced with design integration strategies Experienced with providing technical guidance and support Experienced with creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation Familiarity with regulatory requirements on State and Federal levels. Familiarity with information architecture, design integration strategies, and interaction design. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
