Apple News is seeking a Puzzles Editor.
Description
The Apple News Puzzles Editor will create daily puzzles, edit puzzle features, contribute to original game development, perform daily curation in the app, and work cross-functionally with other members of the puzzles team.
Responsibilities
Daily curation of puzzles and word games.
Work with vendors and Apple News editors to ensure publication deadlines are met.
Write sharp and engaging display copy and push notifications to promote puzzles and word games with the Apple News audience in mind. Work with our copy editors to ensure your work meets all aspects of our house style.
Never stop iterating. Use a variety of data and analytics to optimize for product KPIs.
Surface bugs and other performance issues.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated mastery creating and editing puzzles and word games.
Experience managing a crossword or other puzzle program either at a media company or independently.
Strong editorial judgment and creativity, with a sensitivity to the larger news cycle.
Proficiency with data and analytics. You can effectively incorporate user behavior into editorial strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with word list management and working within a variety of web CMSs.
Experience with original word or logical puzzle development.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
