About Our Client
This leading, full service global banking group has a huge presence in the United States. The bank is currently growing its audit function to achieve a number of strategic objectives, including attaining "best in class" audit coverage, strengthening and developing audit methodology and dealing with heightened regulatory requirements due to recent growth. In light of this, the business is seeking a consultant to cover ALM and Capital Planning audits, to be based in New York.
Job Description
Ā Lead and manage the preparation of audit plans to ensure that the scope, approach, resourcing and logistics of an audit are appropriately planned
Ā Manage and lead a team of staff at all different levels and be able to motivate, encourage and challenge them to provide very high quality and value-added results
Ā Assist in the development and maintenance of the IA program to assess alignment with regulatory requirements
Ā Execute testing of ALM and Capital Planning audits and individual assessments
Ā Effectively communicate with business partners
Ā Analyze information to identify risks and trends
Ā Advise key stakeholders and senior management on the major plans, projects and structural changes that will impact their business
Ā Ability to work effectively with regulators, external auditors, consultants, Executive/Senior Management and other control functions such as Compliance, Risk Management and Finance, global audit units and governance/steering committees amongst others

The Successful Applicant
Qualifications for consideration include:
Ā 6+ years of relevant knowledge within ALM and/or Capital Planning
Ā Past working experience within Internal Audit is preferred but not a requirement
Ā A flexible and adaptable management style with experience of developing yourself and others
Ā Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Ā A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential long term risks and implications
Ā A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
