Join our Technical Documentation Team
The Technical Documentations team is a dedicated group within the Linode Akamai compute division. It drives developer engagement for cloud infrastructure services. We support and foster a library of over a thousand documents. This library houses a variety of Linux and Cloud topics. We inform our customers and build a better developer community.
Partner with the best
You will reference materials,and troubleshooting guides on a wide range of topics of interest to developers. A portion are sourced from Write for Linode. This is Akamai Linode’s public freelance technical writing program. You will oversee the administration and growth of the Write for Linode program. You will collaborate with Documentation, Marketing and technical writers to build a world-class publication platform for developers.
As a Technical Writer II, you will be responsible for:
• Reviewing and accepting candidates into the Write for Linode program based on technical acumen and writing proficiency.
• Fielding pitches from new candidates and accepted writers for new guides and tutorials.
• Introducing accepted guides and tutorials to our publishing pipeline.
• Managing administrative Write for Linode duties, such as handling contracts and invoices, and scheduling meetings when necessary.
• Acting as a liaison for Write for Linode writers to Akamai Linode, including fielding questions about our services and how to use them.
• Contributing to program growth strategies and content development initiatives and working cross-functionally under general supervision.
• Communicating with contributors and maintaining numerous email threads at once.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, or another related field or its equivalent
• Have demonstrated experience using Linux, open source software, and the Cloud.
• Be skilled in using content development tools and writing customer-facing documentation.
• Be capable of optimizing development and documentation processes.
• Possess excellent communication and writing skills in English.
• Experience with Markdown and Git
