AI/ML Engineer - Founding Technical Role

We are spinning off our internally built AI copilot into a standalone startup. The product is launched from UC Launch Accelerator, awarded by UC Berkeley Haas Startup Seed Funding, with experienced distribution partners. Well-positioned for pre-seed. You'll be evaluated as a founding technical engineer or technical co-founder depending on your actual contribution to building and shipping the product. This role is equity + profit sharing — not a 9-to-5 job. It's a rare opportunity to connect directly with investors, accelerators, and enterprise customers, and to grow a team as an owner. • *Responsibilities:** • Design, build, and optimize ML pipelines — data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, and deployment for production systems • Build and extend core ML platform capabilities: RAG retrieval, embedding services, model registry, and feature store • Integrate ML models into user-facing features including document analysis, financial reconciliation, and AI-assisted training • Conduct model experimentation, A/B testing, and performance analysis to guide production deployment • Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability • Ensure data accuracy and quality through automated validation and monitoring • Manage ML infrastructure in cloud environments including deployment pipelines and security • Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices • *Nice to have:** • 5+ years experience in AI/ML with production deployment • Combination of big tech and entrepreneurial experience preferred • Familiarity with RAG systems, fine-tuning, LLM APIs, vector databases, or NLP • *Join us on the entrepreneurship journey.** Apply with your resume and cover letter to [email protected]
