Your impactAs an AI Tutor, Mathematics Specialist, you will play a key role in training AI models to understand and generate mathematical content accurately. Using proprietary software, you will review expert-annotated data and ensure that AI systems maintain precision across various mathematical domains. This role requires analytical problem-solving, adaptability, and a strong passion for AI-driven innovation in mathematics.This is a contract remote position with variable time commitments. The services to be provided by the Contractor under this agreement are supplementary and not integral to the Handshake’s primary business operations. The Contractor’s services are distinct and separate from the core business activities of Handshake.Your roleUse proprietary software to assess AI-generated mathematical content and provide expert feedback. Ensure mathematical accuracy and consistency in AI model training.Work with technical teams to refine annotation tools and methodologies for mathematical tasks.Evaluate AI-generated and human responses across diverse mathematical fields, including algebra, calculus, statistics, and discrete mathematics.Interpret, analyze, and review mathematical problems based on evolving guidelines.Your experiencePhD in Mathematics or a closely related field (either in progress or completed within the last 10 years).Proficiency in mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and logical analysis.Strong research background with experience in formal and informal mathematical writing.Excellent communication and organizational abilities.Ability to make independent evaluations based on limited data.Passion for AI, education, and technology.Bonus areas of expertiseResearch experience with published work in a reputable mathematics journal.Experience in AI-assisted education or tutoring.Teaching experience (professor, lecturer, or tutor in mathematics). Experience in technical writing, academic publishing, or mathematical communication. Additional RequirementsAvailability to work evenings and weekends as needed.Ability to quickly adapt to new skills and evolving requirements.Personal device must support Windows 10 or macOS Big Sur 11.0 or later.Reliable access to a smartphone.Location & Work ExpectationsFully remote position.No visa sponsorship available.Not hiring in Wyoming or Illinois at this time.Compensation range$60/hr - $100/hrFor cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
