After Effects Animator for Stick-Figure Style Videos - Contract to Hire

We are building a YouTube channel producing animated history videos in the style of Serious History ( The videos use minimalist stick-figure visuals, short animations, and cinematic camera movement to support long-form, story-driven narration. Here’s how the process works: - We provide the final script, voiceover, and character references - You would help with script storyboarding and scene-to-scene animation in After Effects - Characters are animated using simple rigs, parenting, and camera parallax - Backgrounds are intentionally simple and can be created using AI tools - Animation is done in short scenes that are later assembled into the final episode - If you can animate in After Effects AND create videos using provided scripts and voiceovers, that is a major plus. These are not fast, flashy cartoons or meme edits. The visuals exist to support the story and tone. Important note: Many videos cover serious and difficult historical topics (war, atrocities, political violence, human suffering). Nothing graphic, but the subject matter can be emotionally heavy. I want to be upfront about that. I’m currently looking for freelance animators who are comfortable with: - After Effects - Illustrator and Photoshop assets - Subtle animation, pacing, and cinematic timing - Narrative, long-form YouTube content If you’re interested, just reply and let me know.
