At Bigham Cable, as an Aerial Groundhand, you'll support an Aerial Telecom Crew with the installation and maintenance of fiber/telecom cables and materials.

What you'll do as an Aerial Groundhand
ā¢ Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
ā¢ Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
ā¢ Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
ā¢ Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
ā¢ Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
ā¢ Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
ā¢ Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
ā¢ Perform work in all weather conditions
ā¢ Other duties as assigned
What you'll need
ā¢ To be 18 years of age or older
ā¢ Authorization to work in the United States for this company
ā¢ High School Diploma, GED equivalent
ā¢ Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
ā¢ Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus
Physical abilities & exposures
ā¢ Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
ā¢ Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
