The Operation Research - Optimization team at Delta is seeking an Advisory Developer to join our dynamic and innovative group. We leverage cutting-edge optimization techniques and the latest technologies to build state-of-the-art decision support tools in a fast-paced operational environment. In this role, the Advisory Developer will play a critical part in shaping and developing advanced decision support tools that enhance operational efficiency and influence decision-making across multiple levels of leadership. The appropriate candidate will have hands-on experience with all aspects of the OR model development lifecycle - from collaborating with business owners to understanding complex problems, to designing, developing and deploying solutions. Strong candidates will be self-motivated, exhibit exceptional critical thinking skills, and the ability to synthesize complex problems into practical solutions that deliver measurable business value. Ideal candidates should also demonstrate the ability to lead and take ownership of technical projects in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. What You Need To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications) • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a comparable quantitative field • Superb background in modeling, optimization and algorithms • Minimum of 7 years of post-degree professional experience in end-to-end design, development and implementation of complex applications - from prototypes to production • 5+ years of experience in Airline Operations Research • Excellent technical and programming skills • Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational and prioritizations skills • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data. • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles. • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
