Grow your career.The RoleThe Senior Consultant, Data Services (Data Engineering Focus) is a critical, client-facing role that supports the design, development, testing, and delivery of sophisticated data integration, modeling, and analytics solutions for Nordic clients. Operating at the intersection of technology, strategy, and healthcare operations, this position plays a key role in advancing data-driven transformation within complex healthcare environments.As a senior member of the Data Services team, this individual serves as both a technical expert and trusted advisor, translating business needs into actionable insights, aligning analytics capabilities with client goals, and delivering high-impact solutions that drive measurable outcomes. In addition to hands-on solution development, the Senior Consultant provides strategic guidance, mentorship to junior team members, and thought leadership across Nordic’s analytics initiatives.This role is a direct extension of Nordic’s commitment to excellence and innovation in healthcare. As a visible representative of Nordic, this role can shape client success, influence enterprise analytics strategies, and contribute to the continued growth and leadership of Nordic in the healthcare data and analytics space.The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, technically skilled, and client-centered professional with deep experience in healthcare data ecosystems, modern cloud data platforms, and enterprise data engineering. This role requires expertise in Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and end-to-end data pipeline development, combined with a passion for solving complex problems and the ability to lead and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams. This role focuses on high-impact projects that improve business processes, enhance clinical operations, and elevate the strategic use of data across healthcare organizations.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a strategic contributor and visible representative of Nordic’s Data & Analytics practice, the Senior Consultant, Data Services will assume a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:Client Delivery & Strategic LeadershipServe as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients, translating complex business questions into impactful data and analytics solutionsSupport end-to-end delivery of analytics projects, gathering requirements, architecting solutions, and overseeing development, testing, deployment, and adoptionCollaborate directly with client stakeholders across clinical, operational, and executive teams to align analytics efforts with strategic prioritiesProactively identify opportunities to enhance analytics maturity, optimize processes, and increase the business value of data assetsRepresent Nordic with professionalism and integrity in all client engagements, ensuring exceptional service, strategic insight, and consistent alignment with Nordic's valuesGuide project teams and support solution governance by providing input into architecture, data modeling, data pipelines, and reporting design decisionsDATA INTEGRATION AND ETL/ELT Design and architect scalable and reliable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of healthcare data from diverse sources, including electronic health records (EHR), clinical systems, research databases, and external data feedsBuild production-grade data integration solutions using Azure Data Factory to orchestrate data workflows, manage data movement, and coordinate pipeline executions across complex healthcare data environmentsDevelop end-to-end data pipelines that leverage ADF for orchestration and Databricks for scalable data processing and transformationImplement medallion architecture patterns (bronze/silver/gold layers) within Databricks lakehouse environments to support progressive data refinement and analytics readinessBuild and maintain data warehousing and lakehouse architectures that support enterprise analytics and reporting requirementsTechnical Execution & InnovationDesign and build robust, scalable data models, data engineering solutions and products on platforms such as Databricks, Azure Data Factory and MS SSISDevelop advanced SQL queries, optimize data processing logic, and validate outputs across large, complex healthcare data environments (EHR, claims, operational systems, etc.)Contribute to performance testing, documentation, upgrades, and validation strategies across multiple client systems and environmentsDemonstrate commitment to continuous learning and stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data engineeringTeam Collaboration and Internal GrowthMentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing, learning, and professional growthAssist leadership in project estimation, resource planning, and task coordination to ensure smooth delivery executionContribute to the development of reusable tools, solution accelerators, and best practice documentation that improve team efficiency and delivery consistencySupport Nordic’s internal strategic initiatives, participate in team training sessions, and help evolve the Data Services practice through process improvement and thought leadershipModel Nordic’s core maxims and values by promoting collaboration, excellence, and customer-first thinking across teams and engagementsJob RequirementsGenerally, requires a bachelor’s degree and 8 years of relevant experience, a master’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience, or 11 years of related experience and no degreeBachelor’s degree in data science, healthcare administration, information systems, or related field; advanced degree preferredMinimum 8+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence, with demonstrated success in client-facing or consulting rolesMinimum 4+ years of experience specifically in data engineering within healthcare environments using ADF/DatabricksSkills and ExperienceCertification in at least one of the following tools is preferred: Databricks, Azure Data Factory with relevant experience in all tools preferredAdvanced Proficiency with SQL and experience with large-scale data sets; Python or R for data engineeringProficiency in designing and building data integration pipelines, orchestrating workflows, managing data movement activities, and implementing scheduling and monitoring frameworksExperience with Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices for data pipeline deploymentEpic certification in one or more modules (e.g., Clarity or Caboodle) and experience working with Epic Clarity and Caboodle data modelsStrong experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade data pipelines, ETL workloads, and analytics frameworksExperience with source control (Git, Azure DevOps) and CI/CD practices for data pipelinesStrong documentation skills for technical specifications and data lineageExperience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package development, debugging, and migrationAbility to lead client discussions, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to mentor junior staff, lead technical workstreams, and contribute to strategic solution designExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence decision-makingHigh attention to detail, accountability for deliverables, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvementExperience working across multiple Epic clinical or operational domainsExposure to modern data architectures and cloud-based analytics platforms (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, Databricks)Experience applying Agile methodologies to analytics project deliveryBackground in data science, machine learning, or advanced analytics techniques is a plusAdditional DetailsThis is a remote position;
