ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY
POSITION: Adjunct Faculty - College Writing and General Education Course Instructor, Lancaster, PA site
QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in English or a related field. Experience with facilitating a “first year seminar” is highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
An instructor is needed for WRIT135 College Writing II and general education course, PATH 103, Big Questions, Deep Connections, which supports first-year students to discuss big ideas and explore EMU Values (Environmental Sustainability, Faith & Meaning, Power & Equity, Intercultural Understanding). The instructor will teach these two three-credit courses as part of EMU’s first-year curriculum. EMU prefers to hire one instructor to teach both courses in person at its Lancaster campus. Courses are typically scheduled on Tuesdays. Qualified candidates who are only available to teach the content synchronously online will also be considered.
POSITION DETAILS: Faculty are contracted per course. Salary determined by education.
APPOINTMENT DATE: Courses begin September 1, 2026. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
