The Benefit Strategies team consists of individuals that develop strategic plan design/positioning recommendations and support financial forecasting for new and existing plan sponsors (and their consulting/brokerage partners).

Primary Responsibilities:
Ensuring timely delivery of materials and meeting internal and external deadlines
Leading and coordinating enhancement to tools and processes utilized by the Benefit Strategies team
Supporting creation of new tools and processes under the guidance of a Benefit Strategist in relation to new and existing business needs
Supporting and presenting at external meetings with clients and consultants
Peer reviewing financial modeling and client materials
Modeling and forecasting plan performance for new clients
Providing renewal & forecast support for existing clients
Evaluating individual employer and book-of-business performance

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline
3+ years of experience in a health benefit financial/pricing role
Familiarity with health plan analytic principles, practices, and techniques to interpret plan experience and utilization data
Data manipulation and presentation skills, including MS Excel & PowerPoint
Proven ability and desire to build relationships externally while collaborating with sales teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Actively pursuing actuarial exam track
Experience working as Benefits Consultant for large and jumbo employers, preferably in the self-insured employer group market
Proven solid understanding of health insurance and plan design concepts, preferably in the self-insured employer group market
Proven solid presentation and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to build relationships with HR leaders
Proven ability to navigate new and emerging situations with efficient and accurate problem solving skills

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
