We work with finance, payroll, and enterprise teams that care deeply about accuracy and regulatory compliance. As we grow, we are looking for an internal compliance leader who understands accounts payable operations and 1099 reporting at an expert level.
The Role
We are hiring an Accounts Payable & 1099 Compliance Manager to oversee internal AP operations while also serving as our in-house subject matter expert on 1099 reporting, W-9 compliance, and IRS filing requirements. This role is ideal for someone who has owned 1099 reporting end-to-end and understands the operational pain points our customers face. You won’t just process payables — you’ll help us think through compliance workflows, validate best practices, and contribute to product feedback as we expand our W-9 and TIN matching capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
• Manage full-cycle AP (invoice processing, approvals, vendor payments)
• Maintain vendor onboarding documentation (W-9 collection, validation)
• Reconcile AP ledger and support month-end close
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls
1099 Reporting & IRS Compliance
• Oversee annual 1099-NEC and 1099-MISC preparation and filing
• Review W-9s for completeness and accuracy
• Ensure TIN/name validation best practices are followed
• Manage B-Notices and backup withholding processes
• Maintain audit-ready documentation
• Stay current on IRS reporting changes and regulatory updates
Compliance & Product Collaboration
• Provide internal expertise on vendor onboarding and reporting workflows
• Assist in shaping best-practice guidance for customers
• Support sales and customer success teams with compliance-related questions
• Identify automation opportunities within AP and reporting processes
What We’re Looking For
• 5+ years of AP and 1099 reporting experience
• Strong understanding of IRS 1099 compliance requirements
• Experience handling B-Notices and backup withholding
• Experience working in ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
• High attention to detail and process-driven mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast-growing SaaS environment
