About the position

CAMP Systems is seeking an Accounting Software Support Assistant to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing software support related to finance and accounting best practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying system improvements, upgrading, installing, and configuring systems, as well as providing onsite, classroom, and remote training to end users on the software. The position requires a proactive approach to resolving software issues and ensuring that clients receive timely and effective support. The Accounting Software Support Assistant will lead the Software Support Representatives, managing the help desk phone line for incoming service requests, including emergency support. This role involves providing guidance on the ideal use of the software based on best practices and customer business processes, and directing clients to professional services when necessary. Follow-up on all calls and issues until they are resolved is essential, as is the creation and maintenance of working documents that include processes, procedures, how-to guides, and known errors. The Assistant will also contribute to a knowledge base and provide recommendations for product improvements, ensuring quality assurance testing for bugs and enhancements. Acting as a liaison between the Software Support department and other Professional Services departments is crucial to ensure proper handoff of issues. The role requires specialized knowledge in accounting and finance to resolve complex support problems and escalated issues, serving as the point of contact for advanced technical issues. The Assistant will consult with customers on the ideal use of the software based on best practices and customer business processes, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities
• Lead the remote software system support function by managing Software Support Representatives.

• Answer the help desk phone line for all incoming service requests, including emergency support.
,
• Provide clients with answers to questions and guidance on ideal software use based on best practices.
,
• Follow up on all calls and issues until resolved, ensuring customer satisfaction.
,
• Create and maintain working documents including processes, procedures, how-to guides, and known errors.
,
• Contribute to a working knowledge base and provide recommendations for product improvements.
,
• Conduct quality assurance testing for bugs and enhancements in the software.
,
• Act as the liaison for the Software Support department and other Professional Services departments to ensure proper issue handoff.
,
• Utilize specialized Accounting & Finance knowledge to resolve complex support problems and escalated issues.
,
• Consult customers on the ideal use of the software based on best practices and customer business processes.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent from a four-year college/university.
,
• Minimum of two years related experience and/or training in accounting software support or equivalent combination of education and experience.
,
• Exposure/experience in preparing and presenting basic software training information.
,
• Knowledge and/or experience in the aviation industry is a plus.
,
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred) is a big plus.
,
• Strong knowledge of accounting processes is strongly preferred.
,
• Ability to be on-call beyond normal business hours and on weekends.
,
• Ability to operate independently with a high degree of productivity and reliability.
,
• Knowledgeable in current networking standards and familiar with system administration.
,
• Fluent with Microsoft Server 2003 and Windows XP/Vista.
,
• Knowledge of accounting systems (i.e., QuickBooks, Great Plains) is preferred.
,
• Experience with client/server software systems, SQL, Interbase/Firebird, and Oracle database systems is a plus.
,
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
,
• Hardware/software troubleshooting experience in environments servicing local and remote users.
,
• Experience with Quantum Control is a plus.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in the aviation industry.
