Job Summary As an Accounting Associate, you will perform a wide range of accounting and administrative duties to support our accounting department. This role requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas, including accounting, customer service, and policy administration. You will be responsible for handling complex accounting calls, resolving policy issues, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients and agents. Key Responsibilities Respond to accounting questions from multiple customer service representatives via phone, Slack, and email, providing timely and accurate solutions. Handle complex policy situations, striving to resolve all issues and escalating to management when needed. Manage complex and escalated accounting calls from insureds, agents, and other parties, providing exceptional customer service and resolving issues efficiently. Review and apply policy payments not automatically handled by the system, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Review premium refunds for accuracy and generate payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Receive and post policy NSFs and chargebacks, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Review and handle EFT requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Process functions of positive pay, including check verification and voiding checks. Review and update policy installments, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Receive and process all payments by mail and post to the OSIS system, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Provide backup support for other Accounting Associates as needed, ensuring seamless operations. Complete miscellaneous projects as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability. Essential Qualifications Bilingual (English and Spanish), with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education, with a strong foundation in accounting and administrative principles. Acute attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills. Either two (2) years of insurance experience or two (2) years of accounting experience required, or equivalent combination of insurance and accounting experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex policy issues. Preferred Qualifications Experience with accounting software and systems, including OSIS. Knowledge of insurance industry principles and practices. Certification in accounting or a related field (e.g., CPA, CMA). Skills and Competencies Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
