Accounting Associate

Position Title: Accounting Associate – Remote Reporting Line: Reports to Accounting Head Location: Remote General Purpose Support the expansion of the finance function and streamline daily financial operations within the Subsidiary’s Finance team. This role is well-suited for early-career professionals eager to deepen their accounting expertise, as well as experienced individuals who enjoy applying their skills in a collaborative, mid-sized team environment. The Accounting Associate will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and reliability in financial reporting, reconciliation, and compliance processes. Specific Objectives (first ~12 months): Perform daily sales reporting and reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy Manage bookkeeping activities in QuickBooks Online, including bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, accounts payable, and client equity Contribute to month-end processes, including profit and loss analysis and balance sheet reconciliations Support the streamlining and automation of accounting workflows to improve efficiency Collaborate with the Finance team to troubleshoot discrepancies and ensure data integrity Assist with finance-related administrative duties to strengthen departmental operations Key Activities Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting entries using QuickBooks Online Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, intercompany transfers, and client equity transactions Support monthly and quarterly closes, preparing P&L and balance sheet schedules Analyze financial data and generate independent reports when required Collaborate with team members to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies Maintain accurate records and contribute to compliance and audit requirements Provide support for finance-related administrative functions and documentation Requirements Key Competences Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, and/or Google Sheets Ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports independently Problem-solving mindset with strong troubleshooting abilities Comfortable in a close-knit, high-trust team dynamic Self-starter, proactive, and results-oriented English required; Mandarin and/or Spanish are strong advantages Likely Current Job Accounting Associate or Accountant in a finance or corporate services environment Bookkeeper with QuickBooks Online experience transitioning to a corporate finance role Finance professional with 3–5 years of hands-on accounting experience seeking broader responsibilities Employer Value Proposition Founded in 2009, Shift Markets began in the traditional finance world as a leader in the FX space.
