As an accountant II on the Revenue Accounting team, you will contribute to Starbucks success by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of moderately complex accounting functions requiring full professional competency. Maintain and perform monthly and weekly processes and controls for nonstandard markets. Perform and maintain the revenue accounting subledger close process and validations for monthly revenues in excess of $1 billion. Owns the responsibility of the team inbox and key communication with store and operations partners supporting 10,000+ company owned stores in US, Canada and EMEA. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks mission and values.

Leveraging Your Previous Experience, We Will Enable You To
• Prepare revenue related month-end P&L analytics for individual business units, working in close collaboration with the finance and local market teams, to support month-end reporting.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for individual business units that are accurate and compliant with company policies and applicable accounting regulations.
• Review and monitor automated journal entries and automated reconciling account for reasonableness and accuracy. Evaluate manual processes and recommend automation.
• Performs daily and weekly reconciliation and/or review of sales transactions to bank deposits.
• Provide cross-functional accounting consultation on various ad-hoc projects and new initiatives.
• Recommend and implement ideas and innovations to improve upon existing systems, processes and procedures affecting month-end and quarter-end financial close, account analysis preparation and financial reporting.
• Creates and maintains documentation on processes and procedures related to account maintenance.
• Partners with the revenue accounting team and manager on process documentation, month-end process tracking initiatives.
• Independently research and respond to questions from customers and auditors timely and accurately.
• Maintains positive relationships with all respective accounting and systems partners.
• Perform other duties that may be requested by management.
We’d Love To Hear From People With
• Bachelor’s degree (required); degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
• 2+ experience in accounting at a professional level, including journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting and analysis or equivalent experience.
• Attention to detail and displays interest to drive and implement process improvements and controls.
• Intermediate level problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate financial results to individuals at various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.
• Understanding of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (such as Hyperion/Oracle) preferred.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word.
• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively, while exhibiting exceptional attention to detail and continuously driving process improvements.
• Ability to effectively document new and existing processes.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity.
• CPA eligible preferred.
• Experience with Blackline, Alteryx, Microsoft Power BI, SmartSheets is a plus.

• If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
