Its latest €100m fundraising round (Series C) was led by Hedosophia and Sapphire Venture, with continued support from existing investors including Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, HV Capital, Motive Ventures, and Notion Capital.We currently employ 180+ people across Europe with our headquarters based in Berlin, Germany. We would consider hiring remotely for this role. If you do want to move to Berlin though, we’re happy to support your relocation.Your mission:Accounting plays a critical role in our mission by ensuring that we have accurate and complete financial data to drive strategic decisions. As a key player in our accounting department, you’ll ensure the integrity of our general ledger—the foundation for internal and external reports that support stakeholders such as investors, regulators, tax authorities, and the public. To achieve this, you will implement smart, streamlined processes, establish robust controls, and continually seek ways to improve. We value a mindset that challenges the status quo and drives efficiency.This role will give you the opportunity to:Manage day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring smooth monthly, quarterly, and yearly closingsEvaluate existing processes, proposing and implementing ideas to automate and optimize workflowsEnhance and maintain accounting-related internal controls to ensure compliance with external and internal audits (including ISAE 3402)Develop clear and detailed work instructionsLeverage the features of our newly migrated ERP system to maximize efficiencyProvide essential support during external and internal audits and other accounting related projectsJob requirements:Solid expertise in accounting and related processesInitial work experience in a relevant field (e.g. accounting, audit, or advisory)Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to simplify and explain complex conceptsProficiency in ExcelA strong sense of ownership and responsibilityKeen attention to detailEagerness to deepen knowledge in accounting, processes, internal controls, and related areasNice to haveWorked with Oracle NetSuite or similar accounting/ERP system(s) beforeKnowhow of German banking GAAP (“RechKredV”)Why Upvest?We're working on solving a hard problem: fixing the European securities financial infrastructure that empowers more people to be able to invest.
