As an Account Manager you will manage a portfolio of strategic customers in the Food & Beverage and Life Sciences industries.
You will focus on 70% account farming developing long‑term partnerships and expanding existing business and 30% business development, identifying and securing new opportunities within target accounts and new customers.
You combine commercial experience with an understanding of industrial solutions, including automation, power, software, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
You will be based in Belgium. You will report to Sales Manager.
Responsibilities - You will do:
Account Management (±70%)
Be the primary contact for assigned strategic customersDevelop long-term, trusted relationships at operational and management levelsDevelop account plans and growth strategies aligned with customer goalsIdentify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities across automation, power, software, and digital solutionsCoordinate other teams (engineering, services, product specialists, partners) to deliver customer valueManage the full sales cycle within existing accounts: opportunity management, forecasting, proposals, and negotiationsEnsure high customer satisfaction and long‑term retention
Business Development (±30%)
Develop new business opportunities within Food & Beverage and Life Sciences marketsProspect new customers and projects aligned with our portfolioEngage early in customer projects to influence technical and commercial decisionsMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer investment plansRepresent us at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows
The essential - You will have:
Experience as an Account Manager, Sales Engineer, or similar commercial role in an industrial environment
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Industrial Sciences, or equivalent experienceFluent English and Dutch
The preferred - You might also have:
5+ years of experience with industrial automation and digital solutions, such as:Automation & control systemsPower and electrical systemsIndustrial software (MES, SCADA, analytics, or digitalization)Cybersecurity for industrial environmentsExperience working with Food & Beverage and/or Life Sciences customers Track record in managing complex, solution‑based salesFluent French
