Account Manager (Hybrid)
Title: Account Manager - Commercial Lines
Hybrid: 1-2 days in office | Pleasanton, CA | Book Focus: Professional Liability (Architects, Engineers, Lawyers)
About the Role: Manage an assigned book of business, ensuring account retention and supporting new business. Coordinate day-to-day administrative and customer service activities, resolving complex issues, and ensuring no errors or omissions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ā Technical Competence: Maintain technical competence and industry expertise.
Ā Team Leadership: Direct daily activities of the account management team.
Ā Customer Service: Handle customer service requests, policy administration, billing, claims, and coverage analysis.
Ā Policy Management: Manage policy expirations and renewals.
Ā Renewal Process: Conduct client research, prepare submissions, negotiate coverages, and present proposals.
Ā Accounts Receivable: Monitor reports and take action on delinquent accounts, collecting outstanding balances.
Ā System Maintenance: Maintain agency management systems and carrier/vendor platforms, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
Ā Activity Monitoring: Monitor and maintain activity/suspense to ensure timely completion.
Ā Communication: Maintain transparent communication with the account team, ensuring all parties are informed of workload status, questions, concerns, and discrepancies.
Ā Service Excellence: Deliver excellent service and proactively anticipate client needs.
Ā Policy Compliance: Stay updated on company policies and procedures.
Ā Champion IOA core values and demonstrate integrity and leadership.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Ā 3+ years of account management experience or 5+ years in the insurance industry
Ā Thorough knowledge of insurance brokerage and client needs
Ā Required active licensing; professional designation (CIC or equivalent) preferred
Ā Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ā Exceptional customer service, multitasking, and organizational skills
Ā Excellent communication skills
Ā Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ā High School Diploma (or equivalent)
