Academic Writing Partner & Law Review Developmental Editor (4-Week Intensive, Live Collaboration)

I am a legal scholar completing a law review article in Tech Law on a hard academic deadline. - Current draft: ~1,500 words - Target: ~15,000 words of text plus ~5,000 words of footnotes - Deadline: Second week of February (non-negotiable) This engagement is designed to convert an early-stage draft into a polished, submission-ready law review article within four weeks. The Role (Read Carefully): This is not a traditional asynchronous editing role. I am seeking a live writing partner and developmental editor who will work with me in real-time to maintain momentum, sharpen arguments, and to reduce cognitive drag during drafting. We will meet on Zoom for 3–4 hours per session, 4–7 days per week. The default expectation is near-daily collaboration. During live sessions, you will: • Maintain active intellectual presence to support sustained writing focus • Serve as a high-level sounding board on structure, framing, and argument flow • Ask targeted questions that clarify and strengthen legal analysis • Review and edit text as it is produced, improving clarity, tone, and academic rigor • Assist with Bluebook citations or flag items for later cleanup This role requires engagement, judgment, and comfort working inside an unfinished draft. Schedule Requirements: •Duration: 4 weeks • Daily availability for a 3–4 hour block between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM EST • Minimum: 4–5 days per week • Ideal: 6–7 days per week Candidates must be able to commit reliably for the full duration. Ideal Background: • JD, PhD in Law, or equivalent experience in legal scholarship or law review publishing • Familiarity with Tech Law strongly preferred • Strong working knowledge of Bluebook citation style • Comfortable providing real-time feedback and constructive critique • Calm, rigorous, and collaborative under deadline pressure To Apply: Please send a short message outlining: 1.
