We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Academic Support Coordinator II to join our TRIO Programs team at the University of Central Florida. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing academic advising services to low-income, first-generation high school students, empowering them to succeed in their educational journey.
Job Summary:
The Academic Support Coordinator II will work closely with the Manager of the Upward Bound Project EDGE Program to deliver services to program participants, both virtually and at Edgewater High School. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing college readiness curriculum, tracking student progress, and providing individualized academic support to ensure students meet their graduation requirements and are prepared for post-secondary education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver academic advising services to program participants, encouraging and facilitating high school completion and post-secondary enrollment
Implement recruitment, orientation, and intake processes to meet program goals and objectives
Develop and deliver college readiness curriculum, focusing on college access navigation, financial literacy, family outreach, and career exploration
Collaborate with the Manager to meet program internal goals and objectives
Coordinate and participate in academic, social, and cultural events, including college tours and community service opportunities
Analyze data, generate reports, and track student progress to inform program decisions
Maintain accurate student records, contacts, and documentation
Stay up-to-date on higher education trends to support evidence-based decision making
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
Experience working with high school students, program development, and advising/career planning
Demonstrated ability to conduct presentations and work with first-generation, at-risk, and low-income students
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Valid Class E driver's license and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
