Academic Coach (Special Education) Remote
Primary Function
The LifeTech Special Education Academic Coach facilitates an open environment for LifeTech Academy Learners to grow and succeed through positive interactions and trusting relationships. The LifeTech Academy Special Education Academic Coach advances the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of The Academy through consistent communication with Learners and Parents; advocating in the... continued best interest of Learners; assisting Learners in their continued communication with Academy faculty and staff; and, ongoing monitoring of Learners progress toward the completion of their Academy program.
Essential Duties
Identify Learners potentially in need of additional services through IDEA or ADA (504) plans
Facilitate, plan, and record the IEP/504 process for new and existing IDEA / ADA Learners
Coordinate assessments, contractors, and all other necessary components for the IDEA / ADA reports
Identify learners assigned to learning coaches for any potential special needs each new semester or enrollment cycle
Meet monthly with learning coaches to provide discussion & training in an effort to assist in the learners academic success
Communicate and discuss monthly with learning coaches the needed accommodations for the special needs population as measured by observations and curriculum data
Facilitate the understanding of special needs accommodations for both the learning coach and learner
Maintain a strong relationship with learning coaches by having consistent communication about a learners progress and if new accommodations are needed
Work with the learning coaches to determine how to best align the learners academic goals with accommodations necessary
Participate and/or facilitate an MTSS Team with other members of the Academy
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Learner Programming or the Academy Director
Qualifications
Strong Interpersonal skills
Driven work ethic
Willingness to participate in management company sponsored professional development
Strong public relation skills
An ability to meet deadlines and organize multiple tasks
Special Education Certification K-12 (ZS, SV, SM, etc)
Compensation
Salary: $46,870 per year
