Job Summary

Duties
Ā Review and verify patient information and medical records for accuracy.
Ā Code diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems.
Ā Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
Ā Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, conducting medical collections as necessary.
Ā Maintain organized records of billing transactions and patient accounts.
Ā Communicate with patients regarding their billing inquiries and payment options.
Ā Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure seamless billing processes.
Ā Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Skills
Ā Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ā Strong understanding of medical coding principles, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG.
Ā Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for reviewing medical records.
Ā Effective communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
Ā Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ā Knowledge of medical office operations and procedures related to billing and collections.
