This position is responsible for balancing visual quality and production efficiency, while working closely with the Art Director to ensure that the visual experience is realized effectively and consistently within the game.As the technical lead, the 3D Director builds and manages a scalable 3D production pipeline, supervises asset quality, and drives execution across the team. In collaboration with the Project Manager (PM), the 3D Director prioritizes tasks based on asset delivery deadlines and exercises strong decision-making to maximize output within limited resources. A key responsibility is maintaining a high level of communication to keep the team aligned and moving toward completion.Responsibilities: What you'll do● Oversee and manage the technical aspects of 3D asset production● Design and maintain an efficient, scalable, and reproducible 3D production pipeline● Supervise character modeling (structure and deformation)● Oversee rigging and skinning for natural character movement● Supervise visual effects with an emphasis on performance and motion consistency● Manage environment design, including spatial layout, scale, and flow● Guide shader and material creation to achieve both visual quality and runtime optimization● Conduct R&D and develop technical prototypes for implementing visual concepts● Serve as the technical partner to the Art Director, helping bring the visual vision into the actual game experience● Collaborate with the PM to prioritize tasks and ensure on-time asset delivery● Demonstrate strong leadership and communication to drive the team toward milestone completionQualifications: Who you are and what you’ve done●Proven experience as a 3D Director or Art Director on a game team of approximately 100 members (experience inmid-sized teams preferred over large-scale productions)●Deep understanding of 3D production workflows and industry standards●Strong technical knowledge in 3D-specific areas such as rigging, shader development, and optimization●Ability to balance artistic goals with technical constraints and make informed decisions accordingly●Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with artists, engineers, and other departments●Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve production issues early●Strong commitment to schedules, with the ability to lead the team toward meeting asset completion deadlines●A mindset focused on automation and optimization to improve team-wide productivity●Passion for high-quality work and a strong personal drive to achieve excellence, not just to satisfy approvals but to take pride in the craft●Native level of Japanese and business level of English Additional Information Apply now:If you are looking for an exciting role, this job could be a great opportunity for you.
